Students across Central and Eastern Europe are invited to take part in the BIOEAST Student Challenge, an innovation competition launched by the BOOST4BIOEAST project to encourage fresh ideas for a more sustainable and circular bioeconomy.
The competition is open to students with innovative solutions addressing one of eight priority themes within the bioeconomy, including resilient farming systems, biomass logistics, digital monitoring, circular bioeconomy awareness, and other key challenges facing the sector today. Ideas can be technological, organisational, social, or policy-oriented, and are welcome at any stage of development.
Selected participants will benefit from tailored mentoring on innovation readiness and pitching skills, helping them further develop their ideas and effectively communicate their impact. Winners will also have the opportunity to present their projects at the Bioeconomy Austria Summit, taking place on 5–6 October 2026, and gain additional visibility during the BOOST4BIOEAST Final Conference in Brussels on 25 November 2026.
The initiative represents an excellent opportunity for students to expand their professional network, connect with bioeconomy experts and innovators from across the BIOEAST macro-region, and contribute to shaping a more sustainable future.
Applications are open until 31 July 2026 (23:59 CEST).
Students interested in participating can find the application guidelines and further information on the BIOEAST website.
The BIOLOC project is pleased to share this opportunity and encourages students, universities, and academic partners within its network to take part and spread the word.
