On October 25th BIOLOC partners gathered in Brussels to kick off official the BIOLOC project. In this occasion partners had an overlook of all project activities that aim at advancing the role and impact of biobased and social innovation to revitalize European local communities to accelerate the all-inclusive transition to a resource efficient and circular biobased production.
This will be achieved through omnirelevant methodological work with circumstantial actions focused in 12 selected European regions: region of Aragon (Spain) region of Western Macedonia (Greece), region of Plovdiv (Bulgaria), the Nitra Self-Governing region (Slovakia), Slovenia, region Adriatic Croatia, North-Hungary region, West region of Romania, BIOEAST region in Czech Republic, Apeldoorn region in the Netherlands, Baden-Wurttemberg (Germany), Puglia Region (Italy).
Following the assessment of the CBE value chains in the participating regions and analysis of barriers that hinder the engagement of the socially disadvantaged in related economic activities BIOLOC partners will also elaborate baseline governance and business models, that will be further transposed into region-specific toolsets.
BIOLOC will provide specific recommendations and tailored measures to foster socio-economic impact of the CBE to a broader population. To this aim permanent public-private multi-stakeholder working tables will be established (BIOLOC Hubs) to discuss innovative and inclusive CBE as a leveraging factor for sustainable and resilient local development.
